Plenty of Western Sydney blocks have a slope to deal with, and a retaining wall turns wasted ground into usable, level yard. Here are your main options and what they cost.

The number-one reason retaining walls fail is water building up behind them — and on our clay, that water has nowhere to go. A proper wall has aggregate backfill, drainage (ag-pipe) and weep holes built in so water escapes instead of pushing the wall over. A wall without drainage is a wall on borrowed time, no matter the material.
Low garden walls are usually straightforward. But once a wall gets above roughly 600–1000mm, or it's near a boundary, a structure or a drainage easement, it often needs engineering and council approval. The exact trigger height varies by council, so it's worth checking. We build to the right standards, arrange engineering where it's needed, and flag anything that needs approval at the quote — so your wall is safe, legal and built to last.
